How to Save Internal or Blacklisted Emails in Salesforce (Adaptive view)

Messages classified as internal/blacklisted aren’t saved in Salesforce automatically and besides the Save button in SmartCloud Connect Sidebar is disabled for them. When such message is opened, to indicate why the message cannot be saved in Salesforce there appears a notification under Smart Actions, ObservationsSome not important emails were filtered:” with the list of internal or blacklisted email addresses from the message.

However, you can still save any internal/blacklisted messages (as well as messages to/from contacts not yet registered in your CRM) in Salesforce in the following way:

1. Use SmartCloud Connect search to find a relevant record in Salesforce (click the search icon, enter the search keyword and then select a record category from the picklist or press Enter).

If there are no relevant records stored in Salesforce, you can create one via SmartCloud Connect or directly in Salesforce and then search for it.

2. In the search results, select the checkbox next to the record that you need to link the message to in Salesforce; multiple relevant records can also be selected.

3.There will appear a blue Save {number of selected records} item(s) pop-up button at the bottom of the Sidebar window. Click the button to proceed with saving.

4. The dialog Record email as Activity to Salesforce will appear. Check the key fields in the dialog (e.g. Subject and Priority) prefilled with data from the message and select the checkbox(es) below them if you need to attach the message to the created task in .EML format. At this step you may also select which of the files attached to the message (if any) you want to save in Salesforce along with it. Click Save to save the record in Salesforce; the Attachment was successfully saved toast notification will pop up to confirm saving.

Once the email is saved, you will get the following confirmation pop-up:

Note

a possible alternative solution is to create a Salesforce record – a Contact, Lead, or Account – with the needed internal email address, so SmartCloud Connect will work with this email address in the regular way once it is associated with a Salesforce record.
