Authorizing SmartCloud Connect Synchronization to Work with Your Data (Sync Activation)¶
To get SmartCloud Connect synchronization running after you set up the Add-In or change your email service used, you need to authorize SmartCloud Connect to access your MS Exchange or Office 365 data via Sync settings Dashboard.
If you use MS Exchange Impersonation, synchronization process will start automatically with no need to log in to your Exchange account. Learn more about setting up Exchange Impersonation from this article.
Perform the steps below to authorize SmartCloud Connect Connect to work with your Exchange/Office 365:
1. In SmartCloud Connect Sidebar, click the ☰ (Menu) button and select Set up sync (alternatively, Sync settings) in the drop-down list
2. Enter your MS Exchange/Office 365 login credentials in the OAuth2 window that will be opened in your Internet browser:
Now SCC Sync is up and running for this email account.
If you change your email password in the future, refer to this article to learn how to update it in SCC Sync settings to keep the Sync running.
To pause SCC Sync, follow this instruction.
To deactivate SCC Sync, follow this instruction.
When you open the SmartCloud Connect Add-In for the first time and log in with your Salesforce credentials, it automatically starts using these credentials in Sync settings to connect your mailbox to Salesforce and starts the synchronization process. You can always change both Exchange and Salesforce accounts in sync settings later. Refer to this article to learn how.
